PARIAHLORD – Mirrors
“Mirrors” is PARIAHLORD’s most ambitious and complex work to date. The album’s eight tracks guide listeners through a journey of historical events and personal experiences, all wrapped in a sophisticated and abstract musical narrative. The band pushes its boundaries with a sound that’s both more refined and experimental, blending a stronger doom influence while maintaining their signature melodic style.
Produced once again by Martin Buchwalter at the renowned Gernhart Studios, “Mirrors” marks a new chapter in PARIAHLORD’s evolution. The band’s chemistry and dedication to pushing their craft forward are evident throughout the album.
Track Highlights:
- The Hole in the Wall: An acoustic-driven piece that sets the tone with its raw and heartfelt melodies.
- Infernal: An immersive track that plunges the listener into dark, haunting soundscapes.
- Enigma: A powerful blend of gripping bass riffs, odd time signatures and melodies that will captivate listeners from start to finish.
- Oneironaut: The most progressive song PARIAHLORD has ever written, showcasing their technical prowess and creativity.
Band Members:
Carsten Schmitt – Vocals/Guitar
Philipp Röttgers – Drums
Jan Kurtze – Bass
Praise for “Vultures”:
“Vultures is their first full-length album containing eight tracks in the best heavy stoner manner, and with some complex progressive rock elements. […] It’s clear to me after a few more spins, that Vultures witnesses the band that has matured and developed their sound and song-writing skills since their first highly-acclaimed 2020 release, Embrace the Misery.” — Metal Revolution
PARIAHLORD’s previous album, “Vultures,” was celebrated by critics for its innovative blend of genres and powerful delivery. The band’s progression from “Vultures” to “Mirrors” is a clear demonstration of their continuous evolution and dedication to refining their sound.
Band Quotes:
Philipp Röttgers (Drums): “Musically, we have developed even further without losing our roots. The songs are more versatile, but still just as heavy. We’re excited to see how the fans react.”
Carsten Schmitt (Vocals/Guitar): “‘Mirrors’ is a further development of our sound. It’s darker, more emotional and at the same time more complex than ‘Vultures’, but without losing the energy and pressure that our fans love.”
Jan Kurtze (Bass): “Each track has its own identity, but as always in our case, they all come together to form a larger picture. With ‘Oneironaut’ in particular, we really pushed ourselves musically.”
About PARIAHLORD: Formed in 2019 out of a shared passion for heavy riffs, introspective lyrics, and experimental soundscapes, the German stoner prog band PARIAHLORD published their debut album “Vultures” in 2022. Their music is a reflection of their diverse influences and dedication to storytelling.
Production Credits: Recorded, mixed, and produced by Martin Buchwalter at Gernhart Studios, “Mirrors” continues the band’s collaboration with one of the most respected heavy music producers in Germany.

Reviews (a selection)
– Stormbringer.at
Stoner Metallers PARIAHLORD return with their new album “Mirrors” and the record has quite an uncompromising and abrasive quality with brutally honest lyrics that you don’t initially expect. The album is quite progressive and superbly melodic with a slight Alternative sound that operates with a rough and ready determination which makes “Mirrors” quite a thrilling album to listen to. – Outlaws of the Sun
PARIAHLORD ist mit ‚Mirrors‘ ein ebenbürtiger Nachfolger zu ihrem erstklassigen Debüt geglückt. – Musikzirkus Magazin
